What's up folks I know it's been a while but I am back.

I have been out and about checking on some things. I have noticed something some crazy things, like the music industry is crazy. It's a rough world out there watch yourself artist cause if you aren't careful you could be in a situation that's no good for anyone but the label. With that being said here are two people who had there hay day in different time periods but when they did they had the world on smash. Sean 'Diddy' Combs and Berry Gordy, Jr.

The similarities are quite amazing. They both started with nothing and built empires Diddy with Bad Boy and Gordy with Motown. Both had a star they revolved the company around. They also generated an array of talented artist. But the most important thing they have in common is greed. They are living proof of anything for a dollar!

"Industry rule #4080 - Record company people are shady" ~ Q-Tip

These two men proved that on numerous occasions. They use words like family and togetherness, but what they really mean is everyone for themselves and get what you can while you can. Combs has had public disputes on how he kept his books and publishing. Bringing out such talents and turning his back on them like Ma$e, The L.O.X., Black Rob, Craig Mack, Total, B5, and the list goes on. It was not until last year that Ma$e got out his "contract" with Combs. He had to bum rush a radio station and put him the spot to release him out his deal. The rapper Po (formerly known as Shine) did a 9 year bid for Combs and didn't receive not one iota of help. Of all the artist that put out hits on Bad Boy how many are relevant today? So when he say it's an dynasty look at it again and say really?

Gordy is equally if not worse than afore mentioned Combs. Gordy had a hit factory literally Motown was known as the "Hit Factory U.S.A." with talents like Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, The Jackson 5, Diana Ross, The Temptations, and many many more. Gordy could care less about his artist, he treated Motown like the factories it was surrounded by in Detroit. When one act left he had three more waiting to take their place. So with odds like that made people expendable. Example when Florence Ballard left The Supremes Gordy didn't sweat it he just found Cindy Birdsong who looked freakishly similar to Ballard and the hit kept coming. There are so many other stories I could really write a book anout it. The Motown sound changed music and lives by bridging the gap between Blacks and Whites in the 1960's but of all the artist that were on Motown who didn't write their own material did their story end well?

With all that being said be careful of the deals you make and the people you deal with. Everyone is out for themselves. Do like Charles Hamilton says " don't go in there looking for deals, look for situations".
