(Above is Janis Joplin's last interview)

Before there could be a Pink, before Lady Gaga there was Janis Joplin. She was the rebel in the 60's. She is number 46 and 28 on the Rolling Stones Greatest artist and Greatest singer list respectively. She made it cool to be different, she didn't fit the traditional mold of a typical singer. She was thick , she screamed, and she lived. She showed me that it was cool outside of the box. She was a rocker she smoked, she drank, she did drugs and didn't care who knew. To relate her to someone she was the female version of Lil Wayne. She was hip and cool and lived life to the fullest until her Drug and alcohol overdose on October 4, 1970. Her music influenced many artist like Stevie Nicks, Lyle Tuttle, Pink, and others. In 2010 a movie about her life is coming out. Hopefully a whole new generation of Janis Joplin fans can emerge.

I remember pink talking about the influence of her music in mtv's diary show they used to do.. I have loved Ella fitzgerald's summertime version for a very long time, so I definitely have to check out the version you put up of janis joplin singing it.
Wow@what she's wearing in the interview, kinda looks like a purple indian haha..
