Hidey-Ho world, it's me again Happy Friday to all.
I don' know about y'all but nothing calms my soul like some good poetry. I mean some real good poetry, like masterful word play and similies.
I know what you are thinking "Molo why you got poems on a music site?" Well music aint nothing but poems to an instrumental. Even the bible has songs in it, The Psalms are poetry put to music do your research if you dont believe me. It doesn't matter what kind it is old poems, new poems, haikus, or Sonnets. Here are some to take into your weekend enjoy!
Where the Sidewalk Ends
There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.
Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.
Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.
by Shel Silverstein
I Carry Your Heart With Me
I carry your heart with me(I carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

Shakespeare's Sonnet 111
O for my sake do you with Fortune chide,
The guilty goddess of my harmful deeds,
That did not better for my life provide,
Than public means which public manners breeds.
Thence comes it that my name receives a brand,
And almost thence my nature is subdued
To what it works in, like the dyer's hand:
Pity me then, and wish I were renewed,
Whilst like a willing patient I will drink,
Potions of eisel 'gainst my strong infection,
No bitterness that I will bitter think,
Nor double penance to correct correction.
Pity me then dear friend, and I assure ye,
Even that your pity is enough to cure me.
I Guess
I don't know anymore. Ask alot of people what they fear, see what they say. Most people say death or God. I can understand that. But for me i have alittle more deeper fears. I fear love, I fear that person that can bring me to tears. I fear the emotion that can make a man kill. I fear the feeling between just being friends and making it real. I fear life, I fear the pain life brings. I fear ignorance, I fear people not knowing what it sounds like to hear a caged bird sing. I fear people who don't know the patience of Dr. King or not knowing what it means to be free at last. I fear people who don't know the strength of Malcolm or not know the knowledge of El Hajj Malik Shabazz. I fear a lot of things in this world. I fear of talking and only hearing a revoice, I fear of being sad all the time with no chance to rejoice. I'm afraid of being alone at thirty, but what I fear the most is ME.
